Muslims Protest Koran Burning Publications Family Security Matters: "Thousands of Indonesian Muslims gathered outside the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta on Saturday to denounce the planned burning of copies of the Koran by Pastor Terry Jones and members of the Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida.

The bonfire is set to take place on September 11 to commemorate the ninth anniversary of the terror attacks on New York and the Pentagon.

Gainesville officials have denied a permit for the bonfire on the church's grounds, but the center — which made headlines last year by distributing T-shirts that said 'Islam is of the Devil' — says it will go ahead with the scheduled event.

Over 3,000 irate Muslims marched to the U.S. Embassy in downtown Jakarta waving banners and posters condemning the plan. Other rallies are expected to take place in five other cities throughout Indonesia during the coming week. The group organized similar rallies in five other cities across Indonesia, the world' largest Muslim nation.

Religious leaders in Indonesia have condemned Reverend Jones and his incendiary plan and have called on the Obama Administration to use its influence to put out the fire before it gets started.
