President Obama: I Believe Government Should Be Lean - Political Punch: "In Cleveland, Ohio, today, President Obama said, “I believe government should be lean; government should be efficient. I believe government should leave people free to make the choices they think are best for themselves and their families, so long as those choices don’t hurt others.”

An ABC News/Washington Post poll from April has 56% of the American people saying they favor smaller government with fewer services, with 40% saying they support larger government with more services.

That same poll indicated that only 15% of those polled say they believe President Obama prefers smaller government with fewer services. Seventy-seven percent say the president prefers larger government with more services."
