'We're making sure that whatever we do, first, we do no harm,' Springer said. 'The science behind the concept is wonderful. There may be some things, though, that are inappropriate that we need to be careful about.'
Known as Flocabulary, the program is a music-based educational tool that uses raps, rhythms and rhymes to help students learn and memorize everything from vocabulary and English to math and social studies.
About 15 teachers have complained or expressed concern about the rap song lyrics, said Ed Allen, president of the Oklahoma City American Federation of Teachers.
'I just don't think we were real careful where we deployed it,' Allen said. 'Not all parts of it are real affective for the more troubled youth.'
It is the US history curriculum that has raised concern."

Hey, big spenders"A strong case can be made that the people most responsible for the gigantic deficits we face today are neither George W. Bush nor Barack Obama. The real culprits are Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Congress controls the purse strings. When Mrs. Pelosi and Mr. Reid rose to their present jobs in January 2007, the deficit was $161 billion. It had been on a downward trajectory from $413 billion in 2004. Three years later, the Pelosi-Reid Congress had added $1.2 trillion to the deficit. Of course, Mr. Bush sponsored or signed into law many of these deficit-raising bills, such as the bank bailouts and effective tax rebates of 2008. But the Democratic Congress passed them. Long forgotten is the promise Mrs. Pelosi made on the day she became speaker: 'Our new America will provide unlimited opportunity for future generations, not burden them with mountains of debt.' I think future generations would like a do-over. ... For the sake of comparison, let's look at the Pelosi-Reid fiscal record over 10 years. In January 2007, the CBO projected a $379 billion surplus over the next decade. Now, after four years under Mrs. Pelosi and Mr. Reid, and two years of Mr. Obama in the White House, the 2007-2016 projection is a deficit of $7.16 trillion. This deterioration of the nation's fiscal situation is arguably the worst in United States history, and it was brought to us courtesy of a congressional leadership that pledged 'pay as you go' budgeting to bring the budget into balance. At a fundraiser last week at the home of former ABC and CBS News reporter and Obama staffer Linda Douglass, President Barack Obama reportedly told those in attendance he could use a break.
Douglass’ husband is John Phillips, a wealthy lawyer, and the couple hosted Obama and the $30,400 a person fundraiser to raise money for Democrat candidates. About half the jobs were summer employment for youth and the rest were for disadvantaged parents. Each state configured its initiative differently. Some covered all the workers' wages for a few months, while others paid for a portion of their salary.
With the program expiring, many of the adults have been told not to report to work anymore. And it won't be easy for them to find a new position at time when the unemployment rate continues to hover at 9.6%"

These two stories support my assertions that the Green movement is dangerious and the terrorism from this is real. These videos show just how dangerous the Leftist Greenies can be, have been and will be. On Saturday, a coalition of progressive and civil rights groups marched on the Lincoln Memorial and pledged to support Democrats and the progessive big government agenda. The rally, “One Nation Working Together,” led by labor unions was apparently intended to counter Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally, held in Washington, DC on 8-28-2010.
According to the Associated Press:
More than 400 organizations — ranging from labor unions to faith, environmental and gay rights groups — partnered for the event, which comes one month after Beck packed the same space with conservatives and tea party-style activists.
Organizers claimed they had as many participants as Beck’s rally. But Saturday’s crowds were less dense and didn’t reach as far to the edges as they did during Beck’s rally. The National Park Service stopped providing official crowd estimates in the 1990s.
Some of the “One Nation” sponsors including the N.A.A.C.P., the A.F.L.-C.I.O., the Sierra Club and the National Council of La Raza, said they hoped to show that they represented the country’s majority, not the Tea Party.
“Yes, we can!” was chanted, harkening back to the Obama 2008 campaign, as well as chants like “Obama ain’t no Socialist. We are! We are!

Freshman Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., the radical leftist firebrand who said from the floor of the House of Representatives that the GOP health care plan is for sick Americans to “die quickly,” is now running his own very sick campaign for re-election. The Democrats‘ rabid swamp rat has taken yet another bite out of the truth.
Grayson released a political ad that equated his Republican opponent Daniel Webster with the Taliban, trivializing the true suffering that women endure under strict Islamic law. Grayson knowingly took a few words from a Webster speech referring to the Bible in order to deceive voters into thinking that Webster had said exactly the opposite of what Webster actually did say.
Here is the Grayson ad, in which Webster’s words were cropped to give the false impression that Webster was telling his listeners that wives must submit to their husbands:
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Religious fanatics try to take away our freedom in Afghanistan, in Iran and right here in Central Florida.
WEBSTER: Wives submit yourself to your own husband.
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Daniel Webster wants to impose his radical fundamentalism on us.

Here is what Webster actually told his listeners in his speech. He counseled husbands not to select the Biblical verse for their wives that said “submit to me”:

But pick the ones that you’re supposed to do. So instead, love your wife even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. As opposed to wives submit yourself to your own husband. Intelligence and law enforcement officials have information that the teams could at any time launch a "Mumbai style" terror attack that targets civilians for death or hostage taking. The 2008 Mumbai attack used small arms and explosives to kill 175 people and paralyze the Indian city for days.
The current concerns are for scenarios that include opening fire at airports in Europe as well as executing similar attacks at "soft" targets like tourist attractions or hotels.
According to ABC News sources, the terror plotters have moved through the surveillance stage, checked back in with al Qaeda in Pakistan, and have received the go-ahead to strike.

The author-publisher of "The Tea Party Coloring Book for Kids" says he has received death threats over its publication.
Wayne Bell, publisher of Clayton, Mo.-based Really Big Coloring Books, said in an interview with CBS that his $3.59 coloring book is not political. But some critics think the book was designed for politically conservative adults, and not for children.
"We're not really making a political statement," Bell told CBS, adding that his company also publishes coloring books on the Rockettes, Cirque du Soleil and President Obama.

The New Media Journal | Coburn Report: Billions in Education Spent on 'School House Pork': "What do mariachi classes, wine studies and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have in common? They were all funded by federal Department of Education earmarks, according to an extensive new report released Thursday by Sen. Tom Coburn.
The Oklahoma Republican, in a study called 'School House Pork,' is urging the federal government to suspend these education 'slush funds' after finding that lawmakers have secured 5,563 such earmarks, worth $2.3 billion over the past decade. While earmark advocates argue they're a way to ensure taxpayer money is going toward worthy projects, Coburn's report claims the recipients often were not 'deserving or needy' of the extra funding.
The programs were 'created by Congress to improve the American educational system, but have been compromised by political interests and are overrun with education pork,' the report says."

The New Media Journal | Democrats Accused of 'Stalling' on Rangel, Waters Ethics Trials: "All five Republicans on a congressional ethics committee on Tuesday called on the Democratic-led panel to 'stop stalling' and hold public trials for two Democrats before the November 2 congressional election.
The Republicans accused the committee's chair, Democrat Zoe Lofgren, of having 'repeatedly refused' to schedule the proceedings for Representatives Charles Rangel and Maxine Waters.
Rangel and Waters, in unrelated cases, were accused in July and August respectively of violating House of Representatives ethics rules.
Their cases were expected to further complicate efforts by President Barack Obama's fellow Democrats to retain control of the House in the November election."

Morning Bell: Is the Obama DOJ Committed to Race Neutral Law Enforcement? | The Foundry: Conservative Policy News.: "On May 14, 2010, Department of Justice Civil Rights Division Assistant Attorney General Thomas E. Perez testified before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights about the DOJ’s decision to completely drop charges against the New Black Panther Party and two of its members for alleged voter intimidation in violation of the 1964 Voting Rights Act. Perez was also questioned about the department’s decision to seek only narrow injunctive relief against a third defendant who wielded a billy club at the polls on Election Day 2008. After his prepared remarks, Commissioner Todd Gaziano (who is also the Director of the Center for Legal & Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation) asked Perez: “Do you agree that the voting rights laws should always be enforced in a race-neutral manner?” Perez responded: “Yes, sir.”"
