Obamacare and the new Congress UPDATE: Link to repeal bill | Radio Vice Online: "On Wednesday, the new members of Congress will be sworn in. In the House of Representatives, Republicans will now hold the majority, and Obamacare is at the top of their list of things to do … as in … repeal Obamacare. And so it begins. (Link to repeal bill under the fold)

According to the latest Rasmussen poll, 60% of Americans favor a repeal of Obamacare. I suppose soon to be former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D. Ca.) was correct. Congress had to pass Obamacare before we could see what was in it. The problem is that now that we see what is in it, more and more people realize that they do not like what they see.

So, on Thursday , the day after the new House takes office, the House Rules Committee will meet to advance a bill that will repeal Obamacare. The Rules Committee will vote on this on Friday, and, if the bill is advanced, the full House will vote on the repeal bill on Wednesday, January 12.

Of course, we all know that this is symbolic. Even if the repeal bill was passed by the Senate, President Obama would veto it. And, although two thirds of the House might vote to override the veto, two thirds of the Senate would not.

However, it is a step."
