Education Dep't Summit on Homosexuality Bars Reporters from Discussion Sessions | CNSnews.com: "Washington (CNSNews.com) -- The U.S. Department of Education refused to allow reporters into break-out sessions at its first Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Youth Summit, held at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, D.C., on Monday and Tuesday.

When CNSNews.com asked organizers why reporters could not attend the break-out sessions, Education Department public affairs specialist Jo Ann Webb said: “Every summit we’ve had has been this way. It’s to promote an open exchange and that’s just the rule, okay?”

CNSNews.com followed-up, asking, “Even though this is sponsored by the Department of Education and paid by federal tax dollars?” and Webb replied: “It’s been that way for every summit. If you’ve been coming in the past, it’s been that way for every summit.”"

In fact law-abiding citizens in America used guns in self-defense 2.5 million times during 1993 (about 6,850 times per day), and actually shot and killed 2 1/2 times as many criminals as police did (1,527 to 606). Those civilian self-defense shootings resulted in less than 1/5th as many incidents as police where an innocent person was mistakenly identified as a criminal (2% versus 11%)."

Morning Bell: Obama’s Jobless America | The Foundry: "The economic news keeps getting worse for America. Last month, the unemployment rate went up to 9.1 percent, the economy added only 54,000 jobs, and the average length of unemployment rose to more than nine months, the longest since the Labor Department started keeping track in 1948. But despite all the writing on the wall, President Barack Obama wants you and the 13.9 million unemployed Americans to hang on for the ride.

In his weekly address on Friday, President Obama played down May’s terrible unemployment numbers as mere “bumps on the road to recovery” and blamed America’s latest economic woes on high gas prices (which he can do something about, but hasn’t), the earthquake in Japan, and “unease about the European fiscal situation.” Meanwhile, his chief economic adviser, Austan Goolsbee, parroted his boss’s “bumps on the road” line and, on Sunday, told America not to worry about the jobs report, remarking, “Don’t bank too much of any one month’s jobs report. You want to look at a little bit of a trend to get a more accurate barometer.” Goolsbee announced his resignation yesterday."

The Ulsterman Report: Out of a Job? Obama No Longer Cares.. | Socyberty

President Obama has cancelled White House briefings on the economy. Perhaps they were getting in the way of his tee time?

As originally reported in The Hill, it has been confirmed that President Barack Obama has stopped the daily economic briefings he repeatedly promised voters in 2009 he would be having. Those briefings were to be a signal to the nation of just how focused (like a laser!) the president was on improving the American economy and its deep and persistent unemployment rate.

The Obama White House is already attempting to place considerable spin on the news that those oft-promised daily economic briefings have been removed from the president’s schedule, indicating he still gets “regular” updates from that economics powerhouse known as Vice President Joe Biden. Ah yes, the same Joe Biden who promised a half million jobs created every month. That promise was made over a year ago, while unemployment most recently went up again to over 9%. Wonder if Biden has informed President Obama of that fact?

On a somewhat related sidenote, Barack Obama has now found time to play 71 rounds of golf since being elected president. Bloody hell…

Barack Obama is floundering in a sea of bad news, as White House chief economist jumps ship – Telegraph Blogs: "If last week wasn’t bad enough for President Obama with the release of a series of dire economic reports, this week is looking even worse, kicking off with the resignation on Monday evening of his chief economist Austan Goolsbee. After the announcement, Barack Obama paid tribute to his close friend and soon to be former adviser, with a surreal claim that his administration is actually generating “millions of jobs” at a time when the unemployment lines are actually growing."

U.S. funding for future promises lags by trillions - USATODAY.com

U.S. funding for future promises lags by trillions - USATODAY.com: "The federal government's financial condition deteriorated rapidly last year, far beyond the $1.5 trillion in new debt taken on to finance the budget deficit, a USA TODAY analysis shows."
The government added $5.3 trillion in new financial obligations in 2010, largely for retirement programs such as Medicare and Social Security. That brings to a record $61.6 trillion the total of financial promises not paid for.

The $61.6 trillion in unfunded obligations amounts to $534,000 per household. That's more than five times what Americans have borrowed for everything else — mortgages, car loans and other debt. It reflects the challenge as the number of retirees soars over the next 20 years and seniors try to collect on those spending promises.

These new venues will be strategically placed in “food deserts.” In the past, Michelle Obama has described these areas as places where “…families wind up buying their groceries at the local gas station or convenience store, places that offer few, if any, healthy options.”

This uptick in government investment coincides with the belief that these food deserts contribute to obesity. Below, WOAI-TV covers how these healthy-food deficient areas impact residents:"

An Open Letter to Sarah Palin | Personal Liberty Digest

An Open Letter to Sarah Palin | Personal Liberty Digest: "Dear Governor Palin:

I really do like you. I like the fact that your entrance onto the political stage has forced liberals to reveal that not only do they tend to be effete, pseudo-intellectual snobs, but also hypocrites of the highest order. I like that even when you do things which otherwise might be fairly mundane — going hunting, taking the children out for a meal, or even heading out for a run — the Democratic Party reacts as if you are committing one of the crimes for which they readily forgive their own. I like the rather shrewd manner in which you play the left’s hatred against it. As I told a liberal friend of mine the other day, you remind me of that Carly Simon song “You’re So Vain.” You may well be “that vain,” but the song is about you."

Recently, I watched a panel of think-tank experts debate how best to solve our country’s fiscal problems. What caught my attention was that no one — not even the free-enterprise spokesmen from the ultra-conservative Heritage Foundation and the Free Enterprise Institute — so much as alluded to the unConstitutionality of any of the myriad government programs that have caused these problems."

Porterhouse steak and lobster on food stamps!

Porterhouse steak and lobster on food stamps!: "A receipt allegedly found in the parking lot of a grocery store – and confirmed genuine by store managers – reveals a shocking level of luxury purchases made with state-provided food stamp funds.

The receipt from Angeli's County Market in Menominee, Mich., shows the customer used food stamps to purchase $141.78 worth of Diet Mountain Dew soda, lobster and porterhouse steaks.

The general manager of Angeli Foods, Mike Jankovich, acknowledged reluctantly to columnist John Schneider of Michigan's Lansing State Journal that the receipt was real.

'I've been hearing from lots of people about this,' Jankovich told Schneider. 'They're mostly people who don't understand how this can happen.'

Jankovich insisted, however, that the purchase is technically legal under Michigan's Bridge Card food stamps program and that his staff had no right to refuse the sale, even if buying live lobster and expensive steaks might seem a wasteful use of welfare funds.

Asked if the receipt surprised him, Jankovich said, 'Yeah, it's usually not this blatant.'"

As U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., admits publicly that he sent a lewd photograph of his private parts to a young woman via Twitter, his own congressional website declares him to be a champion for children, protecting them from online dangers.

"Sadly, the Internet is the predator's venue of choice today," Weiner said in a news release from Jan. 28, 2007. "We need to update our strategies and our laws to stop these offenders who are a mere click away from our children."

Weiner's site continues:

"In early 2007 my office did a study that found that over 85 percent of registered sex offenders in New York City live less than five blocks from schools, and 670 sex offenders live within just two blocks. Some offenders are even closer, permanently residing less than 500 feet away from unwitting parents, educators and children.

While Ann Dunham may have sought Obama Sr. as her husband and the father of her child, the record suggests the two never lived together as a married couple.

As WND reported, there's no record of Ann Dunham's whereabouts during the last six months of her pregnancy.

Moreover, within weeks of the baby's birth, Dunham left Honolulu with her infant son and traveled to Seattle, where she enrolled in night courses at the University of Washington. She did not return to Honolulu until after Barack Obama Sr. left Hawaii in September 1962 to attend graduate courses at Harvard."

California's attempts to switch to green energy have inadvertently put the survival of the state’s golden eagles at risk.

Scores of the protected birds have been dying each year after colliding with the blades of about 5,000 wind turbines.

Now the drive for renewable power sources, such as wind and the sun, being promoted by President Obama and state Governor Jerry Brown has raised fears that the number of newborn golden eagles may not be able to keep pace with the number of turbine fatalities.

But here's one I wouldn't have predicted: the high-risk pools, which were meant to tide people over until 2013, have signed up just 18,000 people as of March.

There were supposed to be millions of people who were uninsurable because of pre-existing conditions. We heard lengthy testimony about their terrible plight. I don't think it's too strong to say that this fear--that you could get sick and no one would insure you, that's right, you, Mr. & Mrs. Middle-Class Voter--was one of the main reasons offered for the health care overhaul. It was estimated by Medicare's Chief Actuary that around 400,000 would sign up (the CBO estimated 200,000, but only because they assumed that HHS would use its authority to limit enrollment in order to stay within the $5 billion budgeted for the program). So where are all the uninsurable people?"

The Justice Department’s unwatched revolving door « » Print The Daily Caller: "The Justice Department’s Civil-Rights Division has hired dozens of Democratic-affiliated lawyers from organizations that have a huge financial stake in the agency’s decisions and policies.

Under George W. Bush, DoJ officials shifted hiring patterns to favor lawyers from GOP-affiliated groups, and away from Democratic-affiliated groups, according to a 2008 report by the DoJ’s Inspector General. The IG report was produced after Democrats and their allies in the media declared Bush’s hiring patterns to be controversial.

This practice is regulated in other agencies, such as the Pentagon, where long-standing expectations and regulations restrict the “revolving door” movement of lobbyists and executives between companies and government posts. But these restrictions have little or no impact on the Justice Department’s hiring of lawyers from groups such as the ACLU or the NAACP, or from D.C-law firms such as Venable."

Bailed-Out GM Spends Millions on Phantom Carbon Offsets | National Legal and Policy Center: "A report on the Businessweek Web site Thursday illustrated how Chevrolet, General Motors’ subsidiary which gets most of its media love these days over the hyper-sensationalized electric Volt, is building its “Green-cred” in ways other than by the vehicles it manufactures.

But just as with the tax credit program for the Volt, in which dealers were discovered to be selling the vehicles to other dealers who then claim the $7,500 credit for themselves, all is not what it appears to be.

The story is about a program Chevy announced late last year, in which the company promised to purchase carbon dioxide offsets that would fund “environmentally-friendly” projects, which would counterbalance the emissions created by the 1.9 million vehicles the company expects to sell in 2011. Among the projects Chevrolet said would be funded were forestry projects, methane capture from landfills, wind farms, solar farms, and energy efficiency projects and upgrades."

National Inflation Association: "The official U.S. unemployment rate rose during the month of May to 9.1%, up from 9% in April, with only 54,000 non-farm jobs being created for the month. The real unemployment rate including short and long-term discouraged workers is now 22.3%. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) used the birth/death model to produce a positive monthly bias during the month of May of 206,000 jobs, up from 175,000 in April, 117,000 in March, and 112,000 in February. Without the birth/death model, 152,000 jobs were lost during the month of May.

By utilizing the birth/death model, the BLS is assuming that during the month of May, the number of new jobs created by start-up businesses were 206,000 greater than the number of jobs lost from companies going out of business. NIA finds this assumption to be absurd and believes it is likely that jobs lost from companies going out of business were actually much higher than jobs created by new start-up firms. It is obvious to us that the BLS is using the birth/death model to manipulate unemployment figures to make the U.S. employment situation seem far less worse than it truly is. There is absolutely no legitimate reason for the birth/death model upward bias to have increased 84% over the past three months."

PATH train allowed to proceed through Hudson River tunnel to WTC with potential bomb aboard, PAPD sources say - NYPOST.com

PATH train allowed to proceed through Hudson River tunnel to WTC with potential bomb aboard, PAPD sources say - NYPOST.com: "In a glaring security breach, a Port Authority police supervisor allowed a PATH train with a potential bomb aboard to travel from Jersey City to the World Trade Center, sources told The Post.

Incredibly, the same cop was reprimanded for doing the same thing a year ago, when he authorized a PATH train to continue without checking out another suspicious package, the outraged sources said.

In the latest incident, Lt. James O'Neill gave the train the green light Wednesday, despite pleas from subordinates that he wait for a K-9 officer who was on the way to check the suspicious package left under a seat."

Liberal vs Conservative: A Spiritual Battle. » Publications » Family Security Matters

Liberal vs Conservative: A Spiritual Battle. » Publications » Family Security Matters: "Without beating around the bush, I believe the battle being fought in America today goes beyond politics; right vs left. It is a spiritual battle; good vs evil.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesians 6:12

The mindset of the American left is a spirit of Antichrist which is man making himself God.

Before writing me off as a Bible nut, please hear me out. Understanding this reality will explain much of the left's behavior. Because they believe man is God, in their insane arrogance, the left think they can fix everything; legislate equal outcomes and even save or destroy the planet.

Make no mistake about it folks, we are in a spiritual battle. Ask yourself. Specifically, what about Sarah Palin inspires such visceral hatred from the left? The word is “wholesome”."

Muslim Brotherhood Riding the Crest of Arab Spring » Publications » Family Security Matters: "In my most recent book, 'The Coming Revolution: Struggle for Freedom in the Middle East' (completed July 4, 2010), I argue that civil societies in the Greater Middle East and Arab world had reached a “critical stage” in their repudiation of all authoritarian forms of government: regime, theocracy, military and ultra-nationalist.

The projections therein were based on a thorough study of antecedent Cedars and Green Revolutions in Lebanon (2005) and Iran (2009) respectively, both with limpid narratives, particularly online, and both auguring a continuation of bottom-up, regime-crumbling uprisings in the region."

Editorial: An entourage more royal than the Queen's | ScrippsNews: "The heads of government in London for the G-20 summit are discussing serious and weighty issues, which in time will be duly reported on, but right now the British press is entranced by the sheer size of President Obama's traveling entourage. And no wonder.
Obama arrived with 500 staff in tow, including 200 Secret Service agents, a team of six doctors, the White House chef and kitchen staff with the president's own food and water.
And, according to the Evening Standard, he also came with '35 vehicles in all, four speech writers and 12 teleprompters.' For sure, our president is not going to be at a loss for words.
The press duly reported on Air Force One and all its bells and whistles but also on the presence of the presidential helicopter, Marine One, and a fleet of identical decoys to ferry him from Stansted airport to central London."

Now, that so many Americans have wallowed in their smug confirmation that Palin is an idiot unqualified for anything but Paul Revere thinks about something paulreverefactsdotcomrepeating sixth-grade history, how far, wide and fast do you think the contradictory news will spread that the former governor of Alaska was indeed correct?"

Destroying the Dollar » Publications » Family Security Matters: "Something I never thought I would ever see in my former hometown, a wealthy New Jersey suburb of New York City, was a Dollar Store, but one opened recently in a former supermarket. Dollar Stores are giving Wal-Mart, Target, and similar outlets a run for their money and it’s not hard to see why. The local one has just about everything you could need and all for astonishing low prices.

In countless ways people are looking to save money these days. The looming problem, however, is the question of what happens when Americans wake up to learn that even a dollar can no longer buy anything?

“When Faith in U.S. Dollars and U.S. Debt is Dead the Game is over – And that Day is Closer than You May Think” is the cheery title of an article recently posted on EconomicCollapse.com."

The Obama Peace Plan: Rahm Emanuel Is Wrong » Publications » Family Security Matters: "Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s attempt last week to reassure Israel that President Obama’s May 19th speech was misconstrued; Mr. Obama’s repeated calls for Israel’s return to the 1967 lines grew out of his concern for the Jewish state, claimed the former White House Chief of Staff.

In his June 2nd Washington Post article, Mr. Emanuel echoed the president’s contention that “the hard realities of demography” threaten the survival of the Jewish state. Clearly, both anchored their arguments in the conjured estimates of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics. A 2006 World Bank study found a “32% ‘inflation’ in the number of Arab births, ” alleged by the Palestinians."

Mosques as Barracks in America » Publications » Family Security Matters

Mosques as Barracks in America » Publications » Family Security Matters: "Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan represents the triumphant Janus-faced approach to the fundamentalist global “Islamic revival.” He and his pious forbears have now completed dismantling Turkey’s secular experiment, and achieved the full-throated re-Islamization of Turkish society, an insidious process begun already within the decade after Ataturk’s death, in 1938. When currying favor with gullible Western audiences, Erdogan burbles disingenuous ecumenical platitudes about the “Alliance of Civilizations.” But in reality, this is an Islamization campaign promoted by the Organization of the Islamic Conference, notably Saudi Arabia, which rewarded Erdogan, for his role in the Alliance, specifically, as “services to Islam,” with the “King Faisal International Prize,” considered the “Nobel prize” of the Arab world."
