Furious: The Obama Regime Gave 2,000 Guns to Mexican Drug Lords

Furious: The Obama Regime Gave 2,000 Guns to Mexican Drug Lords
RUSH: This Fast and Furious thing, folks, we're talking about a potential impeachable offense here with the selling of guns to Mexico.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Yesterday morning there was a stunning development in Congress' investigation of the Justice Department Fast and Furious gunrunning program. You remember this. This is where ATF allowed a criminal element to purchase AK-47s and other weapons and ammo at Phoenix gun stores, Arizona gun stores; and then take them across the border into Mexico. The theory, or the stated objective here, was to track this stuff back to Mexican drug lords so we could find out who they are and how they were using the stuff and all that, and it turned out the weapons ended up being used to kill Americans, and I'm gonna tell you right now. As I mentioned the first time I mentioned this whole story to you, I will guarantee you -- well, it's gonna be hard to guarantee it, but I am "confident."

Fox News takes on Media Matters - Keach Hagey - POLITICO.com: "For seven years, Fox News has pushed back against the daily scrutiny and criticism leveled at it by Media Matters, the liberal watchdog group. But after founder David Brock said in March that his group’s new strategy amounted to a “war on Fox,” the network ratcheted up its response.

In the past 10 days, Fox has run more than 30 segments calling for the nonprofit group to be stripped of its tax-exempt status. Its Fox Nation website has even provided a link to pre-completed complaint forms against Media Matters to send to the Internal Revenue Service."

US lawmakers to rally behind Dalai Lama - Yahoo! Singapore Finance

US lawmakers to rally behind Dalai Lama - Yahoo! Singapore Finance: "Top US lawmakers plan Thursday to welcome the Dalai Lama in a show of support as China stepped up pressure on President Barack Obama not to hold his own meeting with Tibet's exiled spiritual leader.

Members of the House of Representatives plan to put aside briefly a bitter debate on taming the US debt for talks with the Dalai Lama, a rare figure embraced by both sides of the political spectrum in the United States.

House Speaker John Boehner, the third highest-ranking US official under the Constitution, invited the Dalai Lama to the Capitol. Former speaker Nancy Pelosi, the House leader of Obama's Democratic Party and longtime supporter of the Dalai Lama, will join the talks along with other senior lawmakers.

The White House has tried to keep the question of a meeting with Obama on the back-burner after treatment of the Dalai Lama during his two previous visits to Washington raised hackles both in Congress and China."

GOP Congressman: "Impeachable Offense" If Obama Bypasses Congress On Debt Ceiling | RealClearPolitics: "'This president is looking to usurp congressional oversight to find a way to get it done without us. My position is that is an impeachable act from my perspective. There are a lot of things people say, 'Are you going to impeach the president over that?' — No. But this? This is catastrophic. This jeopardizes the credibility of our nation if one man can usurp the entire system set up by our founding fathers over something this significant,' Rep. Tim Scott (R-SC) said."

The American Spectator : Our Prickly President

The American Spectator : Our Prickly President: "Has the Anointed One disrobed before our very eyes?

The presidency of Barack Hussein Obama might very well have begun its sharp and steep descent towards its nadir last week with his ill-advised press conference which alienated his normally steadfast allies in the liberal media.

No member of the fourth estate was more perturbed with President Obama's unpleasant disposition than Mark Halperin of Time magazine. While appearing on MSNBC's Morning Joe, Halperin referred to Obama as 'kind of a dick.' Halperin's apology to Obama a short time later was insufficient for MSNBC, who indefinitely suspended him from running afoul of their Emperor. To put it into perspective, Ed Schultz was only banished for a week last May for referring to Laura Ingraham as 'a right-wing slut.' At MSNBC, clearly some offenses are more equal than others."

The American Spectator : Letting Obama Be Obama: "The New York Times calls her Barack Obama’s “old hometown mentor,” “closest friend in the White House,” “all-purpose ambassador,” “skillful envoy,” “emissary,” and the “ultimate Obama insider.” The Washington Post’s Dana Milbank dubs her “the real center of Obama’s inner circle,” with ties to the president that are “deep and personal.” A profile in the Post’s “WhoRunsGov.com,” says she has been involved in “almost all” of Barack and Michelle Obama’s “major decisions.” The Wall Street Journal identifies her as the “essential member” of President Obama’s “inner set.” The Chicago Tribune proclaims her “the president’s right-hand woman.” Rahm Emanuel calls her “a very dear friend” and “valuable ally” to Barack Obama.

And Obama himself calls her one of his “oldest friends,” who is “like a sibling to me…I trust her completely.”

Who is this mystery woman of extraordinary influence? Who is this invisible hand behind Obama? She is Valerie Jarrett, President Obama’s close friend, confidant, and secret weapon, known to Washington insiders, but unknown to the folks in the hinterland."

You have been negotiating, maybe in good faith, maybe not, on the matter of raising the debt ceiling. Actually, you have had your vice president out there, doing what by all accounts is a yeoman job, negotiating budget cuts. But the talks are breaking down over issues of taxes, tax expenditures, tax breaks or 'revenue enhancements.' Neither the House GOP caucus nor the left wing of your own party is giving any ground. You have had it up to here with Grover Norquist and Eric Cantor and you want to get back to raising big money for your re-election campaign."

The American Spectator : Obamacare Tragedy Primed To Further Explode the Deficit

The American Spectator : Obamacare Tragedy Primed To Further Explode the Deficit: "President Obama bludgeoned Obamacare through Congress on the claim, backed by CBO, that it would not add to the deficit, even though it adopts or wildly expands three entitlement programs. As I discuss in my new book, America’s Ticking Bankruptcy Bomb, close analysis of the CBO score and additional new data indicates that, quite to the contrary, Obamacare will likely add $4 to $6 trillion to the deficit over its first 20 years, and possibly more.

Of course, the deficit is not the biggest problem. Even bigger is that regardless of the deficit, Obamacare involves trillions of increased government spending and taxes. Worst of all is that it involves a loss of control over, and the quality of, our own health care. All of this is ultimately a tragedy because as my book also explains, the uninsured could all easily be covered without any individual or employer mandate for just a small fraction of the cost of Obamacare, as discussed below."

Center For Security Policy

Center For Security Policy: "For some time, the outlines of an Obama Doctrine have been apparent. It can be summarized in nine damning words: Embolden our enemies. Undermine our friends. Diminish our country. These days, it is hard to avoid proof that these outcomes are not inadvertent, or attributable to sheer and sustained incompetence. Rather, they are a product of deliberate decisions approved, we must assume, by the President himself.

Consider last week's announcement by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the United States was going to 'engage' the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. At one fell swoop, Team Obama hit its doctrinal trifecta:"

Morning Bell: In Debt Limit Debate, Higher Taxes Aren’t the AnswerThe Foundry: Conservative Policy News Blog from The Heritage Foundation: "Republican congressional leaders will meet in the White House today with their Democratic counterparts and President Obama in an effort to reach an agreement on the debt ceiling. Reports are sketchy as to whether they will succumb to arm-twisting by the White House, amplified in the media, to cut a deal in which “everyone has to give a little”—or fill your preferred cliché. It is thus an appropriate time to remind everyone that Americans have already given all they can, especially to the IRS, and, no, it isn’t time to raise taxes—on the contrary, it’s time for politicians to curb their spending habits.

But just in case dire warnings about defaulting on the debt don’t work and the Republican leadership holds its ground today, a small team of Treasury officials along with friends of the White House are carving out a Plan B ploy to borrow more money on its own authority. It is based, to be charitable to its originators, on a dangerously flawed reading of the 14th Amendment."

Where is our Morality President? - Page 1 - Armstrong Williams - Townhall Conservative: "These are questionable times in our country’s heralded history. The current Congress remains grid locked on nearly every issue of the day, unable to move even basic legislation regarding public safety, transportation, even the Post Office. Meanwhile, a president elected in a modern-day landslide, who vowed to embark on a new era of governing, could go down in history as one who promised so much yet delivered so little.

And while Washington burns with pressing policy concerns, the rest of the nation is swirling in a tempest of questionable practices, poor judgment, and plain stupid behavior that rises to the most elite and highly-regarded in our society.

At a time when the President could stand up and rightly (and righteously) call out the abominable behaviors of our fellow countrymen, silence is his only response. At this time, we need a president willing to decry the injustices perpetrated on the innocent. We need a president who can set a new tone both inside and out of Washington – one of simple morality."

Ahmed Abdulkadir Warsame, portrayed by some in government as a “senior operational commander” of the Somali terrorist group al-Shabbab, has been indicted on nine counts of conspiracy and providing material support to terrorists. Warsame had significant ties to both Shabbab as well as the Yemeni group Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), having helped train terrorists in Yemen and plan attacks in Somalia. It is believed he was a major conduit between the two al-Qaeda affiliates and was in a position to harbor vast amounts of intelligence that would be helpful in heading off the increasing danger to the United States both organizations represent. Pajamas Media » The Future of Obama’s Stealth Gun Control: "January 2013: After the most unremittingly negative, cynical presidential contest in American history, Barack Obama has narrowly won a second term in the White House and stands ready to take the oath of office again. Aided immeasurably by a Legacy Media that buried the Gunwalker scandal along with myriad other scandals potentially harmful to him — and relentlessly savaged his opponents — Mr. Obama just barely pulled himself across the finish line on the strength of his rhetoric.

No longer restrained by the need to maintain appearances in order to win reelection, no longer restrained by the need to appease congressional Democrats, he turns to those facets of his agenda too unpopular to openly pursue during a first term. Very near the top of his list is gun control – or, more properly, the disarming of the American people."

Obamanomics anxiety. The White House is reeling as its reverse Midas touch to the economy is being exposed. Its own economists acknowledge now that each job created or “saved” by the so-called “stimulus” cost taxpayers a whopping $278,000. His statements sharply ratcheted up the affair, and strongly suggested that House and Senate investigations, as well as an internal review by the Justice Department, will widen."

Even U.N. Admits That Going Green Will Cost $76 Trillion - FoxNews.com

Even U.N. Admits That Going Green Will Cost $76 Trillion - FoxNews.com: "Two years ago, U.N. researchers were claiming that it would cost “as much as $600 billion a year over the next decade” to go green. Now, a new U.N. report has more than tripled that number to $1.9 trillion per year for 40 years.

So let's do the math: That works out to a grand total of $76 trillion, over 40 years -- or more than five times the entire Gross Domestic Product of the United States ($14.66 trillion a year). It’s all part of a “technological overhaul” “on the scale of the first industrial revolution” called for in the annual report. Except that the U.N. will apparently control this next industrial revolution."

Casey Anthony verdict: Not-guilty mother to make a fortune from media interviews | Mail Online: "Casey Anthony has become the most vilified woman in America, condemned as a compulsive liar and heartless mother who murdered her own daughter so she could spend her life shopping and partying.

But with today's sensational not-guilty verdict, the 25-year-old could be free as early as Thursday morning to begin the slow process of rebuilding her life - and cash in on her new-found celebrity status.

There is already speculation the compelling case could be turned into a movie, and she is likely to be inundated with lucrative television and book deals worth millions of dollars.

Despite the acquittal of capital murder charges, the Casey family lawyer said it was too early to say if they would welcome Casey back."

~snip~

Countless chat shows will give her the opportunity of telling her story for the first time - an offer she seems likely to take up, after her defence team had to dissuade her from giving testimony at the trial.

And because she has been found not guilty, there is nothing to stop Anthony selling her story to the highest bidder.

Adult entertainment company Vivid has even offered her a career as a porn star.

He was elected to fix the economy, but people think he and his party have failed and have exploded the nation's debt in the process,' Brit Hume said during his commentary segment on 'Special Report.'

'His political base is cranky over the war in Afghanistan, unhappy that he failed to end the Bush tax cuts and worried now that he may be willing to cut spending significantly to win an increase in the debt-ceiling.

'Mr. Obama knows his must stir his base to have any chance at election. But, he knows also that if the independents that backed him in 2008 and deserted him and his party last fall don't come back, his base won't be enough.'"

Media Making Things Up: “Tears” and “Rages” During “The Undefeated”? Really? (7)

Media Making Things Up: “Tears” and “Rages” During “The Undefeated”? Really? (7)

Obviously we’ve seen our share of media lies, but the latest fabrications circulated take a big slice of the cake. The UK Daily Mail reports that I was “in tears” as Todd “rages over Hollywood stars ripping” me in the new film “The Undefeated.” Huh? Really? The beautiful town of Pella, Iowa, was flooded with an army of media covering the premiere of this film. You’d think someone would have caught those tears and rages on tape, right? Well, here’s a video of the remarks I made at the Pella Opera House right after viewing the film. The emotion clearly displayed was gratitude to the filmmakers who invested their own time and money into highlighting my team’s record in Alaska. Todd and I were overwhelmed with gratitude, and we hope everyone sees this film.

In fact, you can click here to buy tickets to see the film, which opens in theaters on July 15th. You can also vote here to bring it to a theater near you.

MSM, you should check it out too. (You’ll learn the facts many of you have failed to report for the last three years as you’ve continued to do what makes you less and less relevant in our country’s discourse: you’ve chosen to just make things up.) There’s a story there, but you’ll never find it if you continue lying and carrying water for the powers that be.

Again, we thank the sweet town of Pella, and will forever remember the amazing evening we shared together in Iowa!

White House Staffers Got a Raise Last Year, And You Did Not

White House Staffers Got a Raise Last Year, And You Did Not: "John Cook — The White House released its annual salary report last week, and as usual, it's nice to work for Barack Obama: Most staffers who were there for more than a year got a salary bump. A bigger one than you did.

The last time we checked in on White House salaries, we found that an astonishing 75% of continuing staffers got raises from 2009 to 2010—a huge number given the fact that, according to compensation experts, most companies had skipped routine raises that year in reaction to the economic crisis that the White House was busy failing to solve. This time around—from 2010 to 2011—the ratio is a little less dramatic. Of the 270 White House staffers who have been there for more than a year, 146—or 54%—received raises. The average salary increase was 8%. If you look at only staffers who got raises, the average increase was twice that."

Scandal Grows: FBI, DEA Involved With Operation Fast and Furious - Katie Pavlich

Scandal Grows: FBI, DEA Involved With Operation Fast and Furious - Katie Pavlich: "Yesterday, Acting ATF Director Kenneth Melson answered questions from Rep. Darrell Issa and Senator Charles Grassley surrounding Operation Fast and Furious. Melson voluntarily participated in the interview and appeared with personal counsel, meaning although the Justice Department has prohibited Melson to testify before Congress on behalf of the DOJ about the scandal, he can in fact come forward with information as an individual informant outside of the DOJ and separate from DOJ interests.

In a letter sent to Attorney General Eric Holder, Issa and Grassley expressed disappointment in the DOJ limiting and controlling Melson's communication and interaction with Congress surrounding the scandal but called the information Melson presented yesterday 'extremely helpful,' to the investigation.

Melson revealed the scope of Operation Fast and Furious reaches far beyond ATF and the Justice Department. He said the FBI, DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and other agencies were heavily involved."

Border gun program proves ripe political fruit

Border gun program proves ripe political fruit: "WASHINGTON • Republicans and Democrats on the House oversight committee last week intensified their efforts to shape the narrative surrounding Operation Fast and Furious, the border-security strategy that allowed guns to be shipped illegally into Mexico in an effort to track them to drug cartels.

Democrats, who held an unofficial hearing Thursday on the now-defunct operation of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, have focused on what they see as a lapse in U.S. laws involving firearms purchases.

Republicans, led by Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the oversight committee, are pushing to blame high-ranking officials in the administration of President Barack Obama for the operation."

Any civilian making over $100,000.00 per year gets a 10% tax increase.

Any civilian making over $75,000.00 per year gets a 5% tax increase.

So how much would this raise? Does it really matter, Obama (and Hillary) have already said in 2008 that the fact that raising capital gains tax rates doesn't increase revenue 'doesn't matter, it is a matter of 'fairness' not revenue increase.'

It’s a day stereotypically marked by hot dogs, fireworks, and a lot of partying, but you have to believe most folks take at least a few moments to remember the one core value of the 1776 American Revolution:

Freedom.

And what freedoms have we enjoyed since then? For starters the freedom to govern ourselves rather than let kings or dictators have the say-so. The freedom to worship in whatever way we choose (or the freedom to not worship at all). And perhaps most precious of all…the freedom to speak our minds. The freedom of speech."

Obama’s Final Argument: Republicans Are Poopheads | FrontPage Magazine: "Now that President Obama is running behind that powerhouse candidate Generic Republican in polls by a margin of 42 to 46 percent, now that the President is issuing letters to his supporters pathetically claiming “We measure our success not in dollars but in people,” now that his supporters are openly talking about his shortcomings, he has brought out his most powerful weapon: he is calling conservatives poopheads.

Seriously.

“If we do not have revenues,” Obama said in arguing for raising taxes during a press conference on Wednesday, “that means there are a bunch of kids out there who do not have college scholarships … It means we might not be funding critical medical research. It means food inspection might be compromised. I’ve said to Republican leaders, ‘You go talk to your constituents an ask them, “Are you willing to compromise your kids’ safety so some corporate-jet owner can get a tax break?”’”"

Mathematical 'proof' Obama birth certificate a forgery

Mathematical 'proof' Obama birth certificate a forgery: "The signature of President Obama's mother on the White House-released long-form birth certificate provides a mathematically certain proof of forgery, according to a prominent software engineer who works as a high-level programmer for a state government.

The source spoke on condition his name not be used, fearing he might lose his job. He asserted that revealing his name is not necessary, because the analysis is self-evident.

Many computer experts have noted that the PDF Obama birth certificate released April 27 has nine layers when viewed in Adobe Illustrator.

Notably, the name '(Stanley) Ann Dunham Obama' is in two separate layers. '(Stanley) Ann D' is contained in Layer 8 while 'unham Obama' is in Layer 9, as seen below in Exhibit 1."

Talk of Rosy Scenarios Ignores Harsh Reality » Publications » Family Security Matters
The president capped off his week presenting departing Robert Gates with a Medal of Freedom for his tenure as defense secretary. In his remarks, Obama trumped what he saw as the accomplishments of the last two years, but “[t]o hear the White House version of the world today, “Rosy Scenario” should be the next Secretary of Defense. In the past few days, we’ve heard that Al Qaeda is on the ropes; the war in Afghanistan has been won; Qaddafi’s days are number (stop bothering about Libya); the Arab Spring is over; and Iraq is done. On top of that, China, Iran, North Korea and Russia can’t be anything to worry about, because the White House hardly registers any concerns.”

Despite all the talk about energy independence emanating from Washington DC, this government and its allies in the environmental movement do whatever they can to thwart this goal. Based on reliable discoveries in Utah, Arizona and Colorado there may be enough fossil fuel from shale and natural gas to avoid any reliance on foreign oil. Why then is nothing happening to mine these resources and bring them to market?
The answer very simply is that extremist elements in the environmental movement have supplied sufficient pressure to make any drilling and mining impossible in these areas.

Obama’s State Dept. Nominee: North Korea's Kim Jong-il ‘Smart, Capable,’ ‘Not a Lunatic’ | CNSnews.com: "(CNSNews.com) – President Obama’s nominee to a top State Department post is one of the few American diplomats to have met North Korea’s Kim Jong-il, whom she later described as “smart, capable and supremely confident.”

Wendy Sherman traveled to Pyongyang in 2000 in her capacity as counselor to then-Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Visiting South Korea four years later – when she was no longer in government – Sherman had positive things to say about the reclusive Stalinist leader."

9/11 kin: Troopers ‘did nothing’ - BostonHerald.com

9/11 kin: Troopers ‘did nothing’ - BostonHerald.com: "Months before the horrific 9/11 attacks, lackadaisical state troopers specially assigned to protect Logan International Airport failed to act on tips that Middle Eastern men were casing security checkpoints armed with cameras, explosive new court documents allege.

One of the suspected terrorists whom troopers could have cornered was later identified as al- Qaeda 9/11 leader Mohammed Atta, according to lawyers for a Boston woman who is suing over the loss of her son. The lawyers took depositions from an airline employee and other witnesses.

Troopers were told the Middle Eastern men were “acting suspiciously” and videotaping airport security in May 2001, according to the filing in a New York court."

Driving to Delusionville - Reason Magazine

Driving to Delusionville - Reason Magazine: "The former Obama auto czar, Ron Bloom, was on Capitol Hill last week telling Congress what a grand bargain the auto bailout has turned out to be for taxpayers. (His testimony should be on the Syfy channel.) But much was missing from his story that he might have heard if he had hung around for the next panel. (Full disclosure: I was on it.)

The story that Bloom told, and that President Obama is making the signature theme of his re-election campaign, goes like this: If the administration hadn’t infused $80 billion into GM and Chrysler, the companies would have hemorrhaged to death. Financial markets, themselves in panic mode, would not have given them the funds necessary to restructure through Chapter 11 bankruptcies and stay in business. Hence, they would have had to shut their factories, sell their assets for scrap and liquidate. And this would have bankrupted auto parts suppliers, shut down dealerships, laid off 1 million workers—whose pension and unemployment benefits taxpayers would have had to foot -- and devastated entire communities. GM and Chrysler may never repay taxpayers in full. But any loss is less than the cost of this economic Armageddon."

When You Lie Down With Dogs » Publications » Family Security Matters: "Geert Wilders published an article entitled ‘A Warning To America’ in the Brussels Journal on the 13th of May this year. In the article he says, ‘Our Judeo-Christian Western culture is far better and far superior to the Islamic culture. We must be proud to say so’!

It begs the question, why then do our Governments and corporations continue to pander and ‘kow-tow’ to the needs of the 7th century thinkers? Regardless of where we look in the media today, time and again our culture and our values are being eroded. One example of a corporation putting profit before people and common sense is Delta Airlines. They snuggled up with Saudi Arabia in a grouping of corporate partners called the SkyTeam Alliance."

Israel's Palace Coup Plotters » Publications » Family Security Matters: "On Monday, saboteurs bombed the Egyptian gas pipeline to Israel for the third time since former president Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in February. The move was just another reminder that Israel today faces the most daunting and complex threat spectrum it has ever seen.

From Egypt to Turkey to Iran to the international Left to the Obama administration, Israel faces a mix of military and political challenges that threaten its very existence on multiple levels. To meet these challenges, it is vital for the government and people of Israel to stand strong, unified and determined. The approaching storm will test our resilience as we have never been tested before."

ABC Chides Money-'Obsessed' Candidates' Fourth of July, Gushed Over Obama in 2007

ABC Chides Money-'Obsessed' Candidates' Fourth of July, Gushed Over Obama in 2007: "Good Morning America's John Berman on Tuesday offered a condescending, dismissive take on how the money 'obsessed' presidential candidates spent their Fourth of July. Yet, four years ago, the same program offered a fawning look at what Barack Obama did on Independence Day.

After mentioning Michele Bachmann and Newt Gingrich, Berman suggested that the Fourth of July could be 'a chance to take a break from their recent big obsession, cash.'

The journalist quickly followed this up by noting that the President has raised $60 million. Berman pointedly explained, '...Though he spent the day with men and women whose value is beyond priceless.' (This was a reference to Obama's speech to U.S. troops at a barbeque.)"
