Gingrich Slams "Elite Media" For Focus On "Gossip" Over Substance | RealClearPolitics
"Herman Cain, I suspect, is getting far fewer questions from citizens about these kind of things than he is about jobs, about other things, and I just think there’s a huge gap between the gossip that fascinates political reporters and the average person’s concern about the price of housing, the availability of jobs, solving the budget deficit without crushing the middle class. A lot of things that, frankly, the substance level are dramatically more important to most Americans."
Gingrich chides the media for running with thinly-sourced stories, as if that matter more than "every other issue in the campaign."

Holder to call for tighter gun control in Fast & Furious testimony tomorrow « Hot Air
Seriously, though, having Obama’s AG mumble about more gun regulation in front of a mic will accomplish two things. One: It’s bound to worry all sorts of swing-state gun owners in Pennsylvania and Ohio once word of his testimony gets around, which is all to the good for election day next year. Two: The more gun owners perk up about Holder’s testimony, the more public interest there’s bound to be in Fast & Furious. And hey — there actually is room for a smart new gun law here if Congress is willing to take it up. I call it the “DOJ Shouldn’t Walk Guns to Psychotic Mexican Drug Cartels Act of 2011.” The text reads, in full, “The DOJ shouldn’t walk guns to psychotic Mexican drug cartels.”

Report: Sarkozy calls Netanyahu 'liar' - Israel News, Ynetnews
French President Nicolas Sarkozy reportedly told US President Barack Obama that he could not "stand" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that he thinks the Israeli premier "is a liar."
According to a Monday report in the French website "Arret sur Images," after facing reporters for a G20 press conference on Thursday, the two presidents retired to a private room, to further discuss the matters of the day.
The conversation apparently began with President Obama criticizing Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO despite Washington's strong objection to the move.

Obama -- 1, Sick People - 0 - Forbes
Hmmmmm.. What have we here:
1 .Major State in the US economically and business wise.
2. Major Private Health Insurance Carriers killing the good programs and leaving the costly and/or bad ones.
3. Brokers and Consultants now cannot make a living to help business owners with choice
4. Another Government Law mandating pricing controls like in the PPAHCA which says the premium taken in can only be used for a small percentage of cost with the lions share going to claims. This limits profits and increases risk of loss.
Is it clear to you all yet that the Patients Protection and Affordable Health Care Act is BAD and will create havoc amongst Small Businesses owners and their employees at a time where it is disastrous?

Articles: The White House Goes Dr. Strangelove
That used to be the standard American answer to folks like the Occu-pishers of Wall Street. If you've ever wondered what "enfant terrible" means, check out the pics of the Progs, heroically pooping on the American flag. This is not a one-time incident. They keep doing the same thing.
But then -- think about the U.S. soldiers who are risking their lives this very minute in the badlands of Afghanistan. What are they thinking? What effect does Obama's endorsement of the Progs have on their morale? Would you risk your life for people who hate your country and go out of their way to shout it in your face?
Now Obama and the Democrats, the media, and America-haters everywhere are riotously sharing the same bed. This is a deliberate political choice by the top Democrats at the start of another Carter-Reagan face-off.
That "99%" slogan is another up-yours! to the country. "Ninety-nice percent" is what Stalin got in every fake election. It's a totalitarian concept.

Most of the unemployed no longer receive benefits - CNBC
Early last year, 75 percent were receiving checks. The figure is now 48 percent — a shift that points to a growing crisis of long-term unemployment. Nearly one-third of America's 14 million unemployed have had no job for a year or more.
Congress is expected to decide by year's end whether to continue providing emergency unemployment benefits for up to 99 weeks in the hardest-hit states. If the emergency benefits expire, the proportion of the unemployed receiving aid would fall further.

IAEA says foreign expertise has brought Iran to threshold of nuclear capability - The Washington Post

U.S. Exploring Faster Switch To Advisory Role In Afghanistan | Fox News
Such a move would have broad implications for the U.S. strategy in Afghanistan. It could begin a phase-out of the current troop-intensive approach, which focuses on protecting the Afghan population, in favor of a greater focus on targeted counterterrorism operations, as well as training the Afghan military.

Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer Blames Second Amendment For ATF/DOJ Gun Walking Mistakes - Page 1 - Katie Pavlich - Townhall Conservative
Breuer declared that nearly 70 percent of guns found in Mexico come from the United States, a figure that has been disproven by the National Rifle Association, FactCheck.org, PolitiFact and by Senator Charles Grassley’s office multiple times. Also during testimony, Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein pushed for more gun control and Breuer expressed his agreement with her statements that American gun laws are too “lax” and therefore result it more violent crime.

American Thinker- Print Article
The heroic online journalists at sites like Sipsey Street Irregulars, PajamasMedia, and Townhall have worked for months uncovering facts leading to the foul murders of federal agents and Mexican citizens. During the week leading up to Halloween, certain signs appeared suggesting that their diligent work is beginning to yield some interesting fruit.
Working backwards Memento-style, here are the highlights in what may turn out to be a watershed week in the high-stakes scandal known as Fast and Furious.
Friday, October 28 2:24PM
Katie Pavlich reports from Townhall.com that Attorney General Holder will testify before the House Judiciary Committee on December 8.

Homeland Security Chief Janet Napolitano LIES to House Committee about Fast and Furious « Coach is Right
The degree of outright dishonesty exhibited by Napolitano that afternoon is rivaled only by that of Eric Holder in his House Committee testimony several weeks earlier.
Responding to a question from Committee chair Darrell Issa about her activities following Terry’s death, Napolitano said, “my number one concern [was] that those responsible for the shooting death of Agent Terry were brought to justice.”
Were that actually the case, why would former prosecutor Napolitano make no protest when three of the Mexican illegals taken into custody at the scene of Terry’s murder were subsequently deported to Mexico several weeks after the killing?
No charges were filed by Phoenix US Attorney, Dennis Burke, no objection made by the FBI into whose custody the three had been taken and NONE lodged by the “concerned” Janet Napolitano. Even if none of the three had actually pulled the trigger, aren’t accessories to murder considered equally culpable under the law?
Or is it possible the DOJ wanted these men out of the country and unable to testify as to what they knew of the Fast and Furious-purchased rifles found at the scene?

No conspiracy theory: 'Gunwalker' being used RIGHT NOW to justify more gun laws - St. Louis gun rights | Examiner.com
What's missing in the Watergate comparison is a clear motive for the Obama White House to send weapons to Mexico. The National Rifle Association and its allies have filled that void with a theory that, in Babeu's words, Fast and Furious was part of a "master plan" to bring about more gun control.

Obama Gives Erdogan the 'Hug Treatment' | The Weekly Standard
An interesting bit from White House reporter Tangi Quéméner's latest pool report from the G-20 in Cannes, France:
[President Obama] entered the room at 1:15 and took to his left, heading to Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy. They chatted for a few seconds before British Prime minister David Cameron joined them. Hard to understand what they were saying amid the cameras noise. POTUS then took a stroll to Australian Premier Julia Gillard who got a hug as European president Herman van Rompuy, European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso and Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan were watching. Eventually the Europeans got a handshake but Erdogan got the hug treatment. POTUS then walked all the way around after noticing that "people are really far away around there". He stopped for quick handshakes and reached out to President Hu of China, telling him 'ni hao' (hello). They cordially shook hands and posed for photographers...POTUS then greeted his Argentinian counterpart Cristina Kirchner who just got reelected without runoff. Angela Merkel was just congratulating her (in English). "So Nicolas, we all have to take lessons" of Kirchner's victory, joked POTUS, who's up for reelection in '12, as Sarkozy is (next May).
Isn't this whole scene pretty standard for President Obama? The Europeans get a handshake and the Islamist Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan gets a hug. And all the president seems to have in mind is campaign politics and his reelection effort.

Still believe this is just some ritual dress?

The Iconoclast
Just a few months ago, Ms. Bakhtiar was considered a treasured catch. Lured away from a prominent position as a public affairs spokesperson for a human rights campaign, she was escorted out of the Cohen building on a Friday afternoon by VOA security guards. It was a humiliating end to a short-lived career where by all accounts she succeeded in raising moral and raising the profile of this much troubled U.S. broadcasting service.
What happened? For now, Ms. Bakhtiar is keeping mum – understandably so – as she undoubtedly consults lawyers and considers taking legal action against VOA.

FBI says Russian spies got close to Cabinet - Washington Times
Frank Figliuzzi, assistant FBI director for counterintelligence, did not identify the Cabinet official, but other U.S. officials said it was Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Mr. Figliuzzi said in an interview that the FBI decided to end its more than 10-year-long counterspy investigation of the network because of concerns that the spies were “getting very close to their objective.”
“These 10 Russian officers were sent to the U.S. on a specific mission to get close to U.S. policymakers and leaders in our government,” he said, noting that one had developed a friendship with someone close to a Cabinet official.

- Ran to Washington to get bailed out; and
- Now have had all of their wealth restored and kept their jobs with the help of the US taxpayer and the seemingly-oblivious Chinese and foreign sovereign lenders who keep shoveling money to the US absent any substantive reform at any level of business or government.
Here is something that the OWS crowd is finally getting around to that will really and truly make a difference though. We suggest you consider seriously doing the same if you are 'mad' about anything and everything.

The promise, according to Senator Michael Bennet, D-Colo., on March 10, 2010
“[ObamaCare will] help us solve the fiscal problems that threaten our economy and our kids’ future by reining in skyrocketing health care costs. As promised, this legislation would not add one dime to the deficit. In fact, [ObamaCare will] significantly reduce the deficit by $1.3 trillion in the first twenty years, bring down costs and provide affordable health insurance to [Americans] who currently do not have it.”
