House Conservatives Say Obama Wants ‘Everybody Else’ to Pay Higher Taxes, But ‘Refuses to Do That Himself’ | CNSNews.com: (CNSNews.com) - Conservative House Republicans on Tuesday said President Barack Obama and billionaire investor Warren Buffett – both of whom support higher taxes on the wealthy – should go ahead and send more of their own money to the U.S. Treasury.
CNSNews.com asked a group of 12 House Republicans, “The president paid about 20 percent of his income in taxes this year, but he says wealthy people like him should be paying at least a 30 percent income tax rate. Do you think the president should contribute that extra 10 percent of his income to the Treasury?”
“Tell him to put his whole salary up. I haven’t seen him put his salary to the deficit yet,” Rep. Jeff Landry (R-La.) replied.
