As Ferguson Burns, Media Ignore 7 African-Americans Killed in Chicago, 29 Wounded: he national media has been focused intently on the unrest going on in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson, Missouri, this week, and some reports noted that two people were shot during the rioting over the weekend. However, during that same weekend 29 African Americans were wounded and 7 were killed in the all-too-common gang violence in Chicago.
Between Friday evening and Sunday night, seven were killed, most in the sort of gang violence often fueled by the drug trade controlled by the Mexican cartels. Twenty-nine were injured.
