Man takes down sign blasting Cuomo, puts up new one | wivb.com: A sign along South Park Avenue in Hamburg hung by a man in opposition to the SAFE Act is coming down, but that isn’t stopping him from putting up a new one.

Scott Zawiercha’s attorney argued that his client was simply exercising his constitutional right to free speech by hanging a four-by-ten foot banner that read, “NY is not S.A.F.E. Stop Cuomo. Preserve your rights.”

“It’s a broad ordinance, but political speech is at the core of the First Amendment. It bars an avenue for political speech, so that has to be challenged,” attorney Jim Ostrowski argued.
