Humanitarian doctor tests positive for Ebola in NYC - New York News: The doctor who became the first confirmed case of Ebola in New York City remained in stable condition on Friday. Dr. Craig Spencer, 33, was being treated in isolation at Bellevue Hospital Center in Manhattan.

"That is a good sign," Dr. Mary T. Bassett, NYC Health Commissioner, said.

Spencer returned from Africa via Europe on October 17 after treating Ebola patients in Guinea with the group Doctors Without Borders.
