How Terrorism Is a Red Herring When it Comes to Gun Control | US News: When John Lewis, civil rights icon and Georgia congressman, led Democratic lawmakers in a sit-in on the House floor Wednesday, gun safety advocates cheered what they saw as a principled stand for a common-sense law: People suspected of being anti-American terrorists should not be allowed to buy guns.

However, critics -- including civil libertarians and anti-terror analysts -- think lawmakers standing for the so-called "no-fly, no-buy" legislation are facing the wrong direction, and that it won't keep dangerous people, mass shooters or everyday criminals from getting their hands on a gun.
