Dem Congressman Concedes Trump Could Have Won Election Without Electoral College | Need To Know Network

Dem Congressman Concedes Trump Could Have Won Election Without Electoral College | Need To Know Network: On Tuesday, the House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member John Conyers (D-MI) held a forum to discuss the possibility of replacing the Electoral College.

The form consisted of many disgruntled Democrats who are still upset with the results of the presidential election.

Hillary Clinton ended up winning the popular vote by two million votes. Donald Trump contests he would have campaigned differently if the popular vote decided the presidency, and would have still won.

During the forum, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) concede this point, saying:

“[Donald Trump] said, ‘oh, well if we had the popular vote I would’ve won the popular vote because I would’ve campaigned differently, I would’ve gone to some of the bigger states.’ He may be correct. Obviously, if the rules of the game were changed, campaigning would change, and maybe that would’ve overturned that two-and-a-half millions votes, and maybe not, that’s unknowable.”

Rep. Nadler went on to state he believes that, going forward, the winner of the popular vote should be elected president.
