San Francisco Power Outage Affecting More Than 89,000 Residents - San Francisco, CA Patch: A massive power outage hit downtown San Francisco Friday morning, leaving thousands without power, closing a BART station, and bringing the whole area to a grinding halt. Pacific Gas & Electric officials say that "crews are working safely and as quickly as possible to restore power," but they have yet to report an official time that power will be restored to the just over 89,000 residents affected.
