Police: Man released under new bail law burglarizes Carle Place: A 22-year-old man accused in a string of burglaries in Westbury was released under the new state bail law and hours later burglarized a Bagel Boss in Carle Place, police say.
Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder says Gerard Conway was arrested in connection with six commercial burglaries and released on New Year's Eve without having to post bail. Ryder says hours later on New Year's Day he committed another burglary.
