This horrid act could have been stopped by almost anyone. Although some were afraid that the man could have been armed I can only see this as a reason more people should be allowed to carry handguns to defend themselves or third persons.
This child needn't have died.

CAIR is an organization that professes to support Islam and Muslims, however their statements are far from being American. In a land where we are fighting terrorism, they should be denouncing any type of terrorist act to show support for the country.
In effect Cair has caused more problems filing law suits and twisting the MSM so that making any statements against terrorists is becoming politically incorrect.
Their board is quite worthy of investigation IMO as in the past board members have been responsible for advancing the rights of terrorists who would like no more than to destroy the United States from within.

FT.com / Home UK / UK - UK raises UAE's terrorism risk level: "UK raises UAE's terrorism risk level

The UK has raised its assessment of the risk of terrorist attack in the United Arab Emirates to reflect a 'high level of known terrorist activity' in the business and tourism hub of the oil-rich Gulf Arab states.
Security analysts say the foreign office's decision to raise the UAE's terrorism risk to high comes amid increasing intelligence surrounding a potential strike on one of the many western interests in the UAE, from the oil infrastructure to Dubai's tourist playground.
For years, there have been concerns that this strong US ally could become a target for Islamist extremists, but no attacks of significance have taken place in the UAE, in spite of the arrest of several alleged al-Qaeda operatives.
'We believe terrorists may be planning to carry out attacks in the UAE,' the updated foreign office travel advice says. 'We continue to advise a high level of security awareness in public places, but we are not advising a change to travel plans,' an embassy spokesman said. Changes to travel advice are made according to intelligence, local knowledge and input from diplomats.

Hundreds of Taliban Take Over Villages in Southern Afghanistan: "Hundreds of Taliban Take Over Villages in Southern Afghanistan
By VOA News
16 June 2008
Afghan officials say hundreds of Taliban rebels have taken over villages in the southern province of Kandahar.
Officials say about 500 Taliban fighters captured several villages in Arghandab district, not far from Kandahar city, Monday.
NATO civilian spokesman, Mark Laity says NATO and Afghan troops are redeploying in the region to respond to any potential threats, after hundreds of Taliban broke out of a prison in the area last week.
The Taliban fighters were among nearly 1,200 inmates who broke out of the Kandahar prison Friday.
Afghan and foreign forces have been battling Taliban insurgents since the U.S.-led coalition pushed the Taliban government from power in 2001.
Britain announced that it will send 230 more troops to Afghanistan to help the fight. That will put 8,030 British troops in Afghanistan by early 2009.
NATO has about 40,000 troops in the country. The United States has contributed the most troops, and has called on other alliance members for an increased commitment to the war in Afghanistan.
The U.S.-led coalition said 35 insurgents were killed on Saturday and Sunday in separate attacks in the southern provinces of Zabul and Helmand."

New Terrorist Plan Attack Caribbean Cruise Ship Full Of Westerners Father's Day June 15, 2008
New Terrorist Plan Attack Caribbean Cruise Ship Full Of Westerners Father's Day June 15, 2008: "The al-Qaeda attack was discovered on a private, invitation only, password protected online forum. Within the private forum, terrorist made plans for the attack, considering two major plans.
The first plan, to attack the ship in the same manners as the U.S.S. Cole was in Yemen in 2000, with a speed boat full of explosive rammed into the vessel. The Caribbean is full of small vessels. This means it could be quite easy to launch a fast boat full of explosives and crash it into a cruise ship, before anyone could stop it.
The other plan, is to have a cell take the vessel from within, using some al-Qaeda operatives working as crew aboard the ship, with others having boarded as passengers. This plan is alleged to start a major fire aboard and during the fire to open sealed hatches to flood the ship and sink it quickly, trapping all aboard."

Bush wants Osama captured before he leaves office: "A Pentagon source said US forces were rolling up Al-Qaeda's network in Pakistan in the hope of pushing Bin Laden towards the Afghan border, where the US military and bombers with guided missiles were lying in wait.
