Why Is ACORN Lobbying HUD While HUD Investigates ACORN? | NewsReal Blog

Lobbyists for ACORN’s largest and best-funded affiliate, ACORN Housing, which recently changed its name to Affordable Housing Centers of America, disclosed in a lobbying reporting form that they have been lobbying a federal agency that is reportedly probing ACORN Housing. Among ACORN affiliates, ACORN Housing has taken in the most taxpayer money over the years.

As I wrote in The Daily Caller, according to the form ACORN Housing paid the lobbying firm $40,000 in the first quarter of 2010 to lobby Congress, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

ACORN Housing is under investigation by HUD.

The housing bubble generator known as ACORN Housing, whose employees counseled undercover conservative activists last year on the finer points of prostitution, tax evasion, money laundering, and illegal immigrant smuggling has merely changed its name.

ACORN Housing is a key component of the far-flung ACORN empire of activism which has long used its housing affiliate as a piggy bank.
