Nolte: CNN Political 'Expert' Fact-Checks Trump on National Motto -- and Gets It Horribly Wrong: Brian Karem, a political analyst CNN hired last June (after he initiated a profane and hostile confrontation with journalist Mike Cernovich), fact-checked President Trump’s State of the Union declaration that “our motto is ‘in God we trust.'” And as we have all come to expect from all CNN staffers, Karem got it wrong.
In one of the more memorable portions of his well-received Tuesday night speech, Trump reminded the nation that “in America, we know that faith and family, not government and bureaucracy, are the center of the American life. Our motto is ‘In God we trust.'”
