Shortage of Doctors Proves Obstacle to Obama Goals - NYTimes.com
Let me make one thing clear. This newspaper is totally pro Obama and his views. They push his agenda at every chance that they get. Even they see the inherent problems with his plans for nationalized (socialized) medicine.
The problems?
Not enough primary care physicians to handle socialized medicine. As we know, family practitioners are now refusing to take new patients who have government health care already because it does not pay. So the rates will have to go up on what they get if they are to take new patients.
What will this mean? It means that we as taxpayers will have to pay them more in order to take care of all the new people on socialized medicine. That is a little glitch that has not been figured in the financial's of this administration.
But since they can not create doctors over night, people will be going to the hospital emergency room for routine stuff that is non emergency.
What does that mean? It means that emergency patients will not be getting the care that they deserve. Now the argument will be, well they do triage in hospitals and it is not first come first serve.
So we now have two problems. people who come in may be waiting a very long time to be seen for routine medical problems and then the people who need helpm, will be getting treatment from doctors who are EXHAUSTED from treating so many more people for routine stuff.
Let's continue with this fiasco.
Since there is not enough enrollment in medical schools, doctors will be enrolled in a traveling medical show to different parts of the country. Through a federal health care initiative that requires doctors to leave their homes and travel to rural parts ofthe Country where their services are needed. So much for doctors being free, buit then again this is now the nation of Obama where freedom and individuality is not as important as the collective good. (Forced voluntarism)
Even with that being done there will not be enough doctors to go around, so there will be more nurse practitioners. Now I have noting at all against the nurse practitioners. Actually my primary care physician has one in his office that I adore and my children use her on a regular basis. But when we need a doctor, he is available. This may not be the case in the near future because there will not be enough to go around.
I have not even really touched upon the economics of all of this. Considering that the Government office of spending has estimated that the national health care will decrease costs of health care by 1% as proposed when Obama's plan was first looked at. This does not take into consideration that they will have to pay primary care doctors more money. There goes your 1% out the window because if not, then we won't have any primary care doctors.
lets look at the financial market that has to suffer through this socialization now. The financial melt down is going to be catastrophic. America makes very little now. It is a service country. We are buyers now. Nothing else.
Insurance companies make a very large sector of the employment base. but that will change because they will not be needed. just what we need eh? More people looking for work because they have no jobs now that health insurance is no longer a national get your own deal.
It will all be government controlled.
That puts salesmen, under writers, claims specialists, insurance doctors, managers, office staff, computer it staff all out of work. Along with all the ansellery services that they need from computers to paper and buildings that they occupy.
Billions of dollars are going tobe taken out of service over night.
Will we bail out the insurance companies that Obama is destroying with one fell swoop of his pen?
Thhen lets not forget the most important piece of all of this. The way that government screws up everything to begin with. They can't handle social security alone. In 6 states social security is being cut back because there is not enough money to keep it going. They have mismanaged that to hell and yet they want a bigger responsibility to take care of all people?
What about the service model of cost vs. cure? You have certainly heard of that haven't you? When the government decides what treatment you will get based upon it's cost effectiveness? Well it is in there. If it is not cost effective to treat you, then you do not get treatment. Do you understand that this means that older people who don't have much left in their life expectancy will not be getting treatment for treatable diseases because it will not be cost effective? It can and will happen as it does in so many countries that we are modeling our national health care from.
This is the worst thing that we can do to the generation that has brought us this far. Doing this to our children is wrong. I as a parent want the very best for my kids that I can get.
If I have to do without things so i can get medical care for my kids then I do without. And believe me I do without a lot for them.
There are better ways to handle medical insurance. One way is to open health care nationally through private insurers. It is much cheaper in our system where prices can be competitive for services. It keeps people in jobs and allows you to make your own decisions as to what care you get.
Do not let this become another thing that the government controls in your life. You have one life, guard it with your own desires of your treatment. This is not something that should be left up to a bureaucrat.
People, this is a bad idea from the very get go. It is not in any ones interest to get this except the illegal immigrants who will also be covered but pay noting into the system.
