Turkey: Obama Failed to Honor Slain Turks in Statement Condemning Armenian Killings - First 100 Days of Presidency - Politics FOXNews.com: "ANKARA, Turkey - Turkey's president said Saturday that President Barack Obama failed to honor Turks slain by Armenians in a message remembering the dead in massacres nearly a century ago.

Obama broke a campaign promise and refrained from branding the WWI-era massacre of an estimated 1.5 million Armenians in Turkey a 'genocide,' mindful not to upset the U.S. partnership with Turkey. Obama was speaking Friday on the anniversary of the start of the killings in 1915 -- a day when U.S. presidents typically honor the Armenian victims.

But Turkish President Abdullah Gul told reporters in Sofia, Bulgaria that Obama should also have expressed sympathy toward 'hundreds of thousands of Turk and Muslims who lost their lives in 1915,' according to comments published by the state-run Anatolia news agency."
