Health Care: Liberals Losing Their Minds « NEOAVATARA
Health care is one of those very complicated, very intricate issues that must be debated by rational people.
The liberal left this week appears to have lost all rationality on the isse.
First, poll numbers have be tredning against the President on this issue (if you exlude the heavily flawed New York Times poll I talked about on Monday). More and more people have less and less faith in Democrats in providing an answer that, simply, will work.
So what do liberals do? They panic. A couple examples.
John Kerry has now stated that the Democrats health care bill would be deficit neutral. First, this is impossible. IMPOSSIBLE. There is no such solution. The idiocy of such comments just show how lost Kerry is on the debate. If you are going to cover 45 million people, it will cost MORE MONEY. I am willing to spend that money, personally, as my own health care plan shows…but don’t lie to us about how much it will cost.
Chris Matthews, on Joe Scarborough’s show in Wednesday morning, seems to have lost his mind. His argument is from Nike: Just Do It. Scarborough asked how he would pay for it, would he consider dumping the public option, etc….Matthews said that he refused to answere any of those questions. Why, may you ask? Because Matthews states that anyone that is asking questions is a right winger, that doeesn’t want health care. I am NOT making this up. He repeatedly made the statement. That is right: if you have concerns about the Democratic plan, shut up because you are clearly a hateful right wing nut, according to Chris Matthews.
The liberals better get it together. I WANT A HEALTH CARE PLAN. As a physician, I know my income will likely drop. I understand that. But the system is not working, and is spinning around the drain. But liberals like Matthews and Kerry are not helping the situation. These debates are tough. And so far, let us be fair: we have YET to see Harry and Louise pop up. Additionally, the Republicans have not been that effective on the issue as well.
No, so far the reason health care is faltering is because one simple reason: liberals are failing. They are failing in doing all the things they promised they would do when they took office; they are failing in avoiding all the Bush era mistakes. In fact, they have taken the Republican playbook for the past 8 years, and followed it to a T.
President Obama needs to step in and corral the troops. Health care is hard, messy, but necessary. Tough decisions need to be made, clearly by people more intelligent than John Kerry and Chris Matthews. I believe a significant majority agree on that, including myself. But right now, if this fails, the failure lies at the feet of the idiots in our liberal intellingesia
