Nurses fault hospital over swine flu masks
Nurses at Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo filed a complaint with the state Tuesday alleging that they weren't given proper face masks to protect them from patients with the swine flu.

About 10 nurses in the hospital's intensive care unit have contracted the flu, according to the complaint filed with the state Division of Occupational Safety and Health. The complaint alleges that the hospital has not given employees a specific type of filtering face mask designed to prevent spread of the flu.

Hospital spokesman Sy Neilson said state officials were at the hospital Tuesday to look into the charges.

"We believe we are in full compliance with the masks," Neilson said. "We're following the guidelines that come to us from the (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)."
