Glenn Beck Show September 24, 2009 « RBO

Fox News Channel’s Glenn Beck Show September 24, for one thing, addressed the expected outrage from liberal blogs following Beck’s boiling of a faux frog live on camera the night before. Punk’d again! Beck and crew rolled out canned camera shots showing how the sham was pulled off. Watch clip three below for details.

Anti capitalism is alive and well

RBO is so dedicated to you, the reader, that we even read skimmed the headlines of the Leftist AlterNet early this morning. Nothing has changed. Naomi Klein interviewed documentarian propagandist Michael Moore and they agreed capitalism sucks. Glad that that’s settled.

NEA

More good news: Former NEA communications guy Yosi Sergant quit, WaPo reports:

Yosi Sergant, who became well known during Barack Obama’s presidential campaign for his work with artist Shepard Fairey around the iconic “hope” poster, resigned Thursday from his job at the National Endowment for the Arts.

Sergant had come to Washington to work in the Office of Public Engagement at the White House. He moved to the NEA in May and was reassigned from his post as communications director two weeks ago after coming under fire from conservative Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck.

Usual suspects behind Glenn Beck Day protests

More good news: Michael Stone at the Portland Progressive Examiner reports:

In Mount Vernon, Washington, thousands are protesting this weekend’s upcoming Glenn Beck Day. 16,000 citizens have signed a 275 page petition protesting Glen Beck Day. Despite the vocal and overwhelming opposition, Mayor Bud Norris refuses to acknowledge common sense and basic human decency, and plans to go ahead and present Beck with the key to the city.

Well, you know you must be doing something right when so many folks work so hard to diss you. BUT! Let’s factcheck using the internet for a few inconvenient facts.

You see, it’s a small detail, but Mount Vernon’s population in July 2008 was 31,513. Assuming the 2000 statistics are correct, approximately 29% of the population is 18 or younger, reducing the number of Mount Vernon “citizens” legally eligible to sign a petition to 22,374.

Does anyone really believe that slightly more than 70% of those Mount Vernon citizens eligible to sign the online petition actually did so? It’s nothing more than another Leftist farce crafted for the headlines.

So, you ask, who exactly is heading up the petition? — FUSE Washington:

Fuse is a state-based online advocacy group working to provide a cutting edge online organizing and communications hub for Washington State. Fuse is focused primarily on securing major advances in progressive public policy for Washington State.

So now it begs the question. We are to believe that 16,000 Mount Vernon citizens not only are followers of FUSE Washington but all dutifully went online to sign the petition?

Well, they most likely didn’t have to. On its website FUSE Washington mentions unnamed “coalition partners”. However, RBO dug deeper and did find the 2008 Progressive Voters Guide for Washington state. FUSE Washington is listed last, preceded by, among others, Washington Conservation Voters, three SEIU shops, and Pro Choice Washington.

Digging even deeper RBO perused FUSE Washington’s blog. There for all eyes to see is a June 12 post, Global Warming at the Crossroads by Erick Magnuson, in which he writes:

On our side is everyone who wants clean energy, green jobs and cares about the future. Against us is Big Oil, King Coal, and the fact that most people sit on the sidelines. Your member of Congress really needs to know which side you’re on, and that you want a stronger clean energy and green jobs bill.

Powerful oil and coal interests did some real damage to a good bill in the House Energy Committee – winning loopholes, bailouts, and giveaways from taxpayers. The current bill doesn’t actually require the creation of wind or solar power, and repeals President Obama’s ability to regulate dirty power plants.

But we can strengthen and improve this bill on the House floor, if enough members of Congress will join our fight. Can you send a letter urging your representative to fight for a stronger bill? …

We are working with our friends at MoveOn and dozens of other groups to strengthen the clean energy and green jobs bill including: 1Sky, Climate Solutions, Environment America, Oxfam, Rock the Vote, ACORN, the Sierra Club, USAction and many others. It’s a real show of strength.

Any questions?

P.S.: Beck can expect the bus loads of “local citizens” to roll in well ahead of his arrival. Hope somebody shows up with a video camera to catch it all on film. Heaven knows the Lame Stream Media will be asleep at the wheel — again.
