He had returned home from his shift and was working in the garage when the three gang members entered and confronted him.
Shots were exchanged between Officer Nettleton and the suspects. Despite being fatally wounded, Officer Nettleton was able to wound of the suspects. The wounded suspect was arrested after seeking medical treatment at a local hospital. Two other suspects were arrested a short time later.
Officer Nettleton was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for three years.
