Obama’s Shame: Revolution Continues in Iran, Sound of Silence from White House | NewsReal Blog: "When Iranian lovers of liberty and democracy decided that the mad Mullahs had persecuted, tortured and killed them long enough, and organized protest after protest against their rule, you expected America to come out in support of them. After all, the “land of the free and the home of the brave” has always been an example and inspiration to all those who love freedom.

Sadly, no word of support came from the White House. Instead of praising the brave Iranians protesting against the Islamo-fascist thugs who have oppressed them for three decades already, President Obama produced nothing but the sound of silence. Worse yet, he gave one of his allies, Senator John Kerry, permission to visit Iran next year. This even though such a visit will widely be interpreted as a sign of support for the mad Mullahs and as a very public betrayal of the leaders of the Green Revolution.

Now, some argue that Obama is right to cloud himself in silence because if he speaks out against President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and in favor of (recently deceased) Ayatollah Montazeri’s followers, the latter will be portrayed as puppets of the West and enemies of Iran.

This argument makes little sense. After all, the regime tried to dismiss its opponents as America’s puppets from the very moment they organized their first protest against Ahmadinejad’s election “victory.” Iranians didn’t fall for the propaganda, however. They knew that the resistance had no ties with the West whatsoever and that the Mullahs were lying through their teeth."
