Poll: Sarah Palin's favorability up - - POLITICO.com: "Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s favorability rating is up 4 percentage points since October – placing her within 9 percentage points of President Barack Obama – according to a new Gallup poll out Thursday.
Palin was rated favorably by 44 percent of the 1,025 adults surveyed nationwide, up from 40 percent in October when Gallup last polled the question.
Opinion of the former Republican governor swung wildly in the few months after she was named Sen. John McCain’s vice presidential running mate. But since the end of the campaign, Palin’s numbers had been somewhat static, drifting very slowly down from the mid 40s to the low 40s until popping back up.
Gallup’s Jeffrey M. Jones wrote in his analysis that Palin’s recently completed book tour had a “modest positive effect” in improving her image, though it did not compare to the favorable swing of 8 percentage points that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton got with the release of her 2003 memoir."
