Two
Paramedics responded to Pierpont Street near Driving Park Avenue about 11:30 p.m., treated the officers and transported them to Strong Memorial Hospital.
According to Rochester police Officer LaRon Singletary, the officers' injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
City police quickly set up a perimeter in the area and, with other police agencies, were searching for suspects.

Sources within the Rochester Police Department say the shooter is in custody. Those sources say that person shot 2 Rochester police officers late Tuesday night.
Police were called to an apartment complex on Driving Park Avenue around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday. They heard noises on the third floor and interrupted a home invasion happening in an apartment.
The Rochester Police Department tells us the officers were shot as they arrived and were opening the door of the apartment. One of the officers was shot 3 times: in the shoulder, the hand and the chest. The other was shot in the lower leg. Both were taken to Strong Hospital with a police escort.
