Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Proudly Serving the 6th District of Minnesota

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Proudly Serving the 6th District of Minnesota: "Washington, D.C., Dec 30, 2009 - U.S. Representative Michele Bachmann (MN-06) today released the following statement regarding the Administration's failure to provide information on the attempted attack on Christmas Day:

'On Christmas Day, Americans were pulled from the comfort of family and friends to face the reality of an attempted terrorist attack aboard a passenger airline. While the foreign terrorist has received Miranda rights, a defense attorney, and is being held on U.S. soil, the Obama Administration has failed to provide Congressional Committees with appropriate briefings, forcing members of Congress to rely on press reports to obtain pertinent information.

'However, this is not an isolated incident. Congress is still awaiting information regarding the recent Ft. Hood shooting and unfortunately, Congressional Democrats are not pushing the Administration to provide more. The White House seems to be flying solo and gambling with our national security.

'For the sake of the safety of the American people, we have to change our focus. Rather than continuing to react, we need to take proactive measures and do everything in our power to protect the American people from another attack”"
