And nobody took to the street to protest the killing.
On the other hand, when an Egyptian woman, Marwa al-Shirbini, was killed in a court in Dresden/Germany last July (2009), the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel rushed to condemn the crime and depicted it as an act motivated by hatred to Islam and Muslims. Merkel apologized to President Husni Mubarak and to the Egyptian people. Thousands of Arabs and Muslims took to the street shouting Shirbini was a “martyr of Hijab” (martyr of the headscarf)."
