The Janus Face of
the Progressive Democrats
“Get thee glass eyes, and, like a scurvy politician, seem to see the things thou dost not.” – William Shakespeare
America, when exactly did we come to tolerate politicians lying to us – bald-faced –about things that actually matter? When did we start to put up with being lied to by our elected officials and accepting it as the status quo? When did we come to accept that disingenuous political spin was just part of the process; that deceiving the electorate was tolerable...at any level? I ask because as I try to reconcile the “hope and change” propaganda with the actions of the Obama Administration, well, let’s just say the campaign rhetoric appears to have been crafted by P.T. Barnum.
Examples of intellectual malfeasance exist on both sides of the aisle but it is dramatically more prevalent on the political Left and since the Progressives have hijacked the Democrat Party it has gotten worse. There doesn’t seem to be a day that goes by where news comes out of Washington DC that is literally unbelievable...
Al Qaeda Has the Initiative
in Attacking US National Security
by Dr. Walid Phares
In 2001, one would-be shoe bomber forced millions of travelers to take off their shoes. In 2006, terrorists planned to bring down aircraft on transatlantic flights by smuggling liquid explosives onto planes. They were thwarted but they succeeded in preventing passengers from bringing liquids into airline terminals. Lesson number one: In this terror war, the jihadists have the upper hand.
Empowering Iranians
to Dislodge the Mullahs
by Amil Imani
After the fraudulent June 12, 2009, Presidential elections in Iran, Iranians poured into the streets by the millions, chanting "Where is my vote?" The thunderous protests were the birth pangs of the Green Movement. That was 6 months ago and the movement has rapidly evolved into a massive force aiming to sweep aside the current regime. Street slogans have changed from “where is my vote?” to “death to the dictator, in direct reference to Ahmadinejad and the supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.
Learning from Dickens:
The Failures of The French
by Randy Wyles
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...” When Charles Dickens wrote the opening lines of A Tale of Two Cities it was 1859. By then it was becoming clear as to the lasting effects caused by the French Revolution, which had been sparked by the American Revolution. Both were born of an ideology that every person had a right to liberty and that the “people” had the right to self govern. But, the dichotomy of the actions taken by the “people” of two different nations - how they carried out their respective revolutions - resulted in two very different paths taken.
Eating Apples in the Dark
by Dr. Thomas Lane Butts
There is an interesting story of a mountaineer who came home hungry one night. He lit a candle and began to eat an apple from a bowl of four apples. He soon discovered that the apple was inhabited by a lively worm. He threw it away and selected another, which he soon discovered to be wormy. He tried the third apple, but again found a worm. Whereupon, he blew out the candle and ate the fourth apple in the dark. Sometimes it is easier to live in the dark than to face uncertain realities of life in the light.
No, the Tea Party Movement
Doesn't Need a Leader
by Lloyd Marcus
A recent article predicted the Tea Party Movement will fail and fade away because it does not have an official leader promoting a single agenda. I disagree. We do not need a single person as our grand puba. We are blessed with several great leaders; Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and Dick Armey to name only a few. Any attempt to rein in all Tea Party Patriots under one leader and strategy would be a mistake, not to mention impossible.
