Scott Brown: A Warning Shot Across the Bow » Publications » Family Security Matters: "'By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard round the world.' – from the 'Concord Hymn' by Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882)
“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.” – Samuel Adams (1722-1803), Massachusetts Founding Father
The first deep rumblings – as if from a distant cannonade – came last November, with conservative victories in Virginia
and New Jersey. Now, Scott Brown's 'Massachusetts Miracle' has trumpeted a clear blast that has shaken America awake – finally, and irrevocably.
How fitting that America's Second Revolution should have its opening salvo come from the state that started the First American Revolution – home of the Boston Tea Party, Bunker Hill, Paul Revere, Lexington, Concord, and the 'Old North Bridge.'"
