GOP: Back to drawing board on health care - NewsFlash - cleveland.com: "Republicans in Congress offered a tepid response Monday to President Obama's call to start a new round of bipartisan talks on health care, arguing that the current Democratic legislation is unsalvageable.
A day after Obama proposed a Feb. 25 meeting of Republicans and Democrats on the issue to 'put their ideas on the table,' GOP lawmakers said they would take the offer to negotiate seriously only if Democrats agreed to scrap their health care plan.
Talk of 'hitting the reset button' on health care comes after Republicans such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky repeatedly criticized Democrats for negotiating alone behind closed doors and polls showed support slipping for the sweeping changes proposed by the Democrats.
'We don't believe their desire to have government-run health care is dead yet,' Rep. Tom Price, R-Ga., said in an interview. 'We're willing to sit down with a blank sheet of paper.'"
