Judge jails Arlington pair found with pipe bombs | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News | Breaking News for Dallas-Fort Worth | Dallas Morning News: "FORT WORTH – A federal judge on Tuesday found that a 45-year-old Arlington woman and her 18-year-old companion are a danger to the public and ordered them jailed pending trial after they were found with three pipe bombs following a police chase last weekend.
Kimberly 'Asma' Al-Homsi, who has a history of erratic behavior, and Yasinul Alan Ansari, 18, also of Arlington, are accused of possession of an unregistered firearm, in this case a pipe bomb.
If convicted, they face up to 10 years in prison.
During a brief hearing Tuesday in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Charles Bleil, Al-Homsi and Ansari were clad in camouflage, apparently what they were wearing when they were arrested Saturday.
A federal public defender representing Al-Homsi said after the hearing that mental health will be explored as a potential issue in the defense.
