CNSNews.com - Computer Problems ‘Won’t Stop Us’ From Completing the Census,’ Census Director Says

Washington (CNSNews.com) – Census Bureau Director Robert Groves says he is “not confident” that the bureau will be able to fix the problems affecting the computer system that is being used to conduct the door-to-door headcount, which began last weekend.

“I’m not confident about anything. I am not confident I’ll make it through the day,” Groves told a reporter who asked if the problems affecting the paper-based operation control system would be “taken care of.”

But,” Groves continued, “we will use the system -- it has fulfilled its obligations to the field work so far, and I hope it gets better through the actions we’re taking.”
