Morgan Hill Parents File Lawsuit Over Cinco de Mayo Clothes Flap - KCBA - Monterey, Salinas, Santa Cruz - News Weather-

MORGAN HILL, Calif. - Central Coast News broke the story about a California school sending students home for wearing patriotic clothing. Then it made national headlines. On Wednesday, it's heading to court. Central Coast News talked to the attorney who filed the lawsuit and found out what the students are asking for. The three Live Oak High School students were told to change their clothes or face suspension. Now, they want to make sure that never happens again. Three families filed a lawsuit against the Morgan Hill Unified School District, its Principal Nick Boden and Assistant Principal Miguel Rodriguez. We spoke with William Becker, the Los Angeles Attorney representing the families.

"We're not seeking money damages, we are asking the court for an order that the school acted unconstitutionally by restricting the students first amendment rights. And we are also asking the court for an injunctive relief, indicating the school is forbidden from practicing those policies in the future," said Attorney William Becker.
