Pilots report more laser strikes around LAX than at any other airport - The Daily Breeze

Pilots report more laser strikes around LAX than at any other airport - The Daily Breeze: "In the latest in a series of laser strikes on local aircraft, two U.S. Coast Guard helicopters were forced to land in the past week after the devices were pointed at their pilots, authorities said Friday.

A laser was aimed at a Coast Guard MH-65C Dolphin helicopter flying over Cabrillo Beach around 9 p.m. Thursday, forcing the pilot to immediately make a 'precautionary landing' at Los Angeles International Airport, said Petty Officer Adam Eggers, a spokesman for the U.S. Coast Guard.

Just two nights earlier, another Coast Guard helicopter was flashed with a laser during a patrol over the South Bay, Eggers said."
