Peter King: Feds became aware of American al Qaeda member in Long Island - NYPOST.com: Federal authorities became aware of an al Qaeda propagandist killed last week in Yemen when he contacted other suspected terrorists on Long Island in recent years, Rep. Peter King said yesterday.
The congressman told The Associated Press that 25-year-old Samir Khan had not been the original target of investigators.
King said Khan “came on their radar” between 2007 and 2009, when he was seen meeting with two terror suspects on Long Island.
Those two are still being watched, he said.
