Is Ron Paul Electable? Iowa Says He Might Be. | Before It's News: According to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll, Newt Gingrich (33 percent), Ron Paul (18 percent), and Mitt Romney (18 percent) lead the pack among likely Iowa Republican caucus goers.
The poll also asked which candidate best reflect a series of positive characteristics: Ron Paul trumps the others on honesty, with 23 percent compared to only 13 percent who selected Gingrich and 12 percent who selected Romney. Paul is also nearly tied with Gingrich on best understanding the problems that matter to Iowa voters, and on standing up for what he believes is right. However, Gingrich trumps Romney and Paul on experience, ability to beat President Obama, and reflecting core values of the Republican Party.
Ron Paul has made fifty (50) appearances in Iowa to secure this measly tie with Romney that has been the bane of republicans since he announced his candidacy. He can NEVER continue to pull these numbers through a full campaign and even if he could, it would never be close to be enough to win a general election. It would only garner him about 30% of the vote when all was said and done against Obama. Ron Paul nor Romney are what the GOP need at this point to stand up to Obama. Gingrich as well is a poor choice, when will we start choosing our own candidates instead of allowing the media or the left make our decisions for us?.
Romney is a RINO and Ron Paul has a very bad international stance on far too many issues. Though his economic stances are fantastic. he deserves a spot where he can be in charge of monetary issues no matter who wins the election. ~~ The Munz
