Bashir: Please 'Hang On Every Word That We Say And Not What Others Say About Us': In response to a widely circulated clip of Bashir saying, "We know that Ann Romney has herself had some suffering in the form of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), she's also suffered with breast cancer. Do you think that he's intentionally using her to close the gender gap?" Bashir spoke harshly to criticism. Bashir claimed his statement was taken "out of context" and that he was not implying that Romney was politicizing his wife's previous illnesses. He acknowledged that his question may not have been the best phrased, he called the criticism a "bastardization" of what he had said or intended.
