Republican National Committee: Obama campaigning on tax-payer funded excursions to swing states - NY Daily News: The Republican National Committee is lashing out at President Obama, accusing him of campaigning in swing states on the taxpayers’ dime.
"In recent weeks, President Obama has been passing off campaign travel as 'official events,' thereby allowing taxpayers rather than his campaign to pay for his reelection efforts," RNC chair Reince Priebus wrote in letter of complaint to the Government Accountability Office and comptroller general on Wednesday.
Priebus pointed to the president's recent stops at college campuses in Iowa, North Carolina and Colorado. At each stop Obama urged the young crowds to voice support for a measure that would keep interest rates from doubling on student loans.
