Judge seeks middle ground in Fast and Furious lawsuit - Josh Gerstein - POLITICO.com: A federal judge said Thursday she’s inclined to split the difference between Congress and the White House in a lawsuit stemming from President Barack Obama’s decision to shield some Justice Department records from a House probe into the flawed gunrunning investigation known as Operation Fast and Furious.

The judge also appeared to harbor some hope that hinting at her likely ruling might press the two sides to work out a settlement in the long-running document dispute that led to Attorney General Eric Holder being held in contempt of Congress by the House in 2012.
