The U.S. State Department issued a global terror alert on Friday to warn U.S. citizens that Islamic State militants are promising to attack individuals to promote jihad.

“Terrorist groups have stepped up their rhetoric calling for additional attacks or kidnapping attempts on westerners,” the department stated, via the Daily News.
