Texas Deputy Shot After Using ‘Less Than Lethal’ Tactics – Law Officer

Texas Deputy Shot After Using ‘Less Than Lethal’ Tactics – Law Officer: A deputy who was injured following a shooting incident in Bulverde (TX) Thursday night is expected to make a full recovery, according to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred just after 10:30 p.m. when Bulverde police and Comal County deputies responded to the Bulverde Hills Subdivision for a suicidal subject with a gun.

Upon arrival, authorities found a man in the street holding a handgun and they attempted to talk to him for several minutes. At one point, the suspect began to walk toward the officers and they took cover while attempting to talk to him.

Ken 5 reports that authorities said that ‘less than lethal tactics’ were deployed and it did not work. The suspect then raised the gun and fired several shots striking one of the deputies.
