AG Barr Disclosed Key Details in His Senate Hearing That Many Missed: WASHINGTON– AG William Barr confirmed last week that the Obama Administration knew that the FBI sought to spy on key Trump Campaign officials. Barr confirmed that “spying did occur,” in his testimony to Congress and then again in his testimony to the Senate Appropriations Committee.

However, he also revealed a very important detail that most people missed. During a back-and-forth with Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Attorney General William Barr identified Alexander Downer, who is a retired Australian diplomat, as the FBI’s reference for the “intel” that sparked the bureau’s spy probe into George Papadopoulos and other Trump campaign officials.
