Poll: Over 7 Million Americans Turned Down Jobs Due to UI Benefits: The generous unemployment benefits in the United States have prevented over seven million people from accepting a job offer, according to a recent Morning Consult poll. The week before the poll was conducted, the week ending June 19, there were 14.1 million adults who received unemployment benefits, which is the most recent estimated total of recipients from both the state and federal programs. The poll shows that the generous unemployment insurance benefits from the government have greatly reduced the number of job offers accepted by an estimated 7,050,000 million throughout the course of the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.
