Chicago police officer who shot man in CTA Red Line station in 2020 is hit with criminal charges - Chicago Tribune: A Chicago police officer who shot a man on a CTA Red Line platform early last year has been charged with aggravated battery and official misconduct, a spokeswoman for the Cook County state’s attorney’s office confirmed. Melvina Bogard, 32, turned herself in to investigators Thursday morning and was released on her own recognizance by Judge Susana Ortiz during a bond hearing Thursday afternoon. The shooting took place in February 2020 at the Grand Avenue station near downtown and was captured on cellphone video by a CTA customer.
