Officer shot in Forest City in 'critical but stable' condition; suspect in custody | WLOS: Forest City authorities say the officer that was wounded in a Monday morning shooting is in 'critical but stable' condition at Spartanburg Regional Hospital, and the suspect accused of firing shots at officers is in custody. During a press conference Monday afternoon, Forest City Police Chief Chris LeRoy said three police officers responded to a report of an "armed and dangerous" person in the Hill Street area at around 8:30 a.m. and encountered 20-year-old Akeil Franklin.
