Barack Obama Activates Missile Defense System He Has Always Opposed - The Ulsterman Report

A Washington Free Beacon report published today outlined President Obama’s order to activate the United State’s missile defense system in light of a threat from a North Korean long range missile launch.  The irony of the president’s orders can be found in his repeated claim that he was not in favor of the very defense system he is now utilizing.

In 2001 Barack Obama was on record stating emphatically he did not support a missile defense system.  More recently in 2008 candidate Obama promised the following:
I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems.
