Keep your guns Nebraska: Legislature adjourns with passage of Emergency Powers Legislation | The Daily Caller: On Thursday, in the final hour of its 2014 legislative session, the Nebraska Legislature unanimously passed critical emergency powers legislation in its Final Reading. Legislative Bill 390, introduced by state Senator Mark Christensen (44), now goes to Governor Dave Heineman (R) for his expected signature.

The amended version of LB 390 will strike the word “firearms” from the list of items the Governor may suspend during a declared state of emergency. LB 390 protects Second Amendment rights by ensuring that a Governor does not have the power to prohibit or restrict the otherwise lawful possession, use, carrying, transfer, transportation, storage or display of a firearm.
