REPORT: 5,000 Bodies Have Been Found In 3,000 Unmarked Graves In Mexico Since 2006: It is a terrible story, more tragic, to know that as a family in Mexico, one of your loved ones could be buried in a mass grave over the drug epidemic.
Everyone knows it is dangerous south of the U.S. border, and the law enforcement officials are corrupt and infiltrated with cartel associates and on-the-ground defense paid mercenaries.
With over 40,000 missing persons in Mexico, in 2006, the government tasked the military to help the police in their drug war and the violence escalated. The report of finding nearly 5,000 bodies in over 3,000 unmarked graves is the first time the Mexican authorities have performed a nationwide survey of exactly how many victims have been found.
